Q:

What should we look for when hiring a contractor?

A: Hiring a reputable, full service, licensed contractor is a must. Always check their credibility, finding out how long they have been in business, if they carry the proper insurance, and if they offer a written service warranty on their workmanship.

The best insurance consumers have against hiring the wrong contractor is by checking references. Previous customers are the most honest source of how comfortable a business deal felt through out the process.

Q:

What should we look for when purchasing energy efficient windows?

A: Energy costs are a growing concern. Reducing energy costs are on everyone’s mind, as these costs will not be going down. In basic terms, current glass R values of up to 10 and the current U values under .20 offer homeowners the greatest thermal performance and value.

Keep in mind that energy efficient windows help conserve energy during all months of the year. Besides conserving heat during the winter, ultra violet ray protection and rising air conditioning costs make energy efficient windows a year long return on your investment.

The best choice is the triple pane glass filled with Krypton gas with double Low E coatings.

Q:

What are the best choices for low maintenance permanent siding today?

A: Today’s busier lifestyles make low maintenance options the common sense choice.

The improved top quality vinyl siding is by far the most popular choice for most homeowners. The new vinyl sidings are much thicker, have heavier nailing fins and have much better PVC stabilizers. Our top quality vinyl siding now comes with a lifetime fade warranty. Some of these premium vinyl sidings come in a longer 16’ length (the standard length is 12’), resulting in 30% to 40% fewer seams in the finished jobs.

These features only appear in the top quality vinyl sidings, not the standard vinyl sidings carried by most lumber yards.

Combine the beauty and durability of these vinyl sidings with our energy efficient foam backer board, which is breathable and moisture proof, and you have the best siding system available. Simply spray your siding off with a hose occasionally, and your house looks clean & new again.

Q:

We would like to replace all our windows, but don’t think that we can afford it.  Do we have to replace all our windows at once?

A: No.  We can start with one window at a time, we have no minimum orders.
Q:

What brands of Windows do you carry?

A: Anderson, Pella, and Great Lakes.  But we can custom order anything you would like.
